Rochester Metal Products got its’ start as part of a school furniture manufacturing business in Richmond, Indiana before 1890.
In 1895, the same owner formed the company, American Lawn Mower.
The foundry and other companies were moved to Muncie, Indiana in 1901. There, we operated producing lawn mower and school desk components into the 1930’s.
In 1937, the foundry was moved to Rochester, Indiana, expanded and was named Rochester Metal Products.
The foundry expanded its’ product mix in 1954, going beyond the lawn mower industry.
In 1995, a major expansion took place which tripled the existing production and sales output.
In 2012, ownership of the foundry was transferred to an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) to maintain local ownership.
